Thank you for
your interest in Sealy Management Co., Inc. SMC manages about 8,500
apartments in the southeast, with apartments in Tuscaloosa, Mobile,
Huntsville, and Birmingham, Alabama, in Greenville and Anderson,
South Carolina, in Jackson, Mississippi, and in Knoxville,
Tennessee. We have grown consistently, with new properties under
construction in the hot markets of Huntsville and Mobile that will
continue our growth and present new employment opportunities in our
company. We are also the general contractor on new construction for
our own projects. We have purchased 16 properties in recent years,
and are constantly reviewing potential properties for purchase.
This growth has provided opportunities for growth for our team, and
we always look at present staff members when a new position is
available that they can grow into professionally, but often must
hire talent from outside.
We are a
stable long term business with a great track record. We have been
in business since 1955, growing out of Sealy Realty Company in
Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which remains our headquarters. Unlike fee
managers, the owners and partners of SMC own almost all of our
property and hold it for the long term. This means that your
property will not be sold out from under you just as you get it
doing well, as is so common in this business. We keep the property
up and are known for paying our bills promptly, with an excellent
financial and ethical reputation. We have a number of employees who
have been with us 20-25-even 30 years or more. All of the owners
have 30+ years in the business and are knowledgeable in property
management and the apartment business, and are fully involved in
the apartment business on a full time basis.

Lois Brown is our employee development trainer, whom many of you
know from a decade of IREM courses that she has taught. Sealy team
members are not alone, as we have a significant support
organization from knowledgeable Regional and Area Managers, to
accounting support, collections support, and landscaping and
construction experts. We are always available to help any Sealy
team member.
Although we
promote from within whenever possible, we often have opportunities
for good, well trained apartment professionals from outside.
